Do you have a homeschool plan?

I just wasn’t done going on a tangent after today’s Instagram post haha!

Today I talked about plans with homeschooling, and the flexibility it comes with. I left off talking about buying workbooks for my boys for the last 3 years. Every new school year I’d get just as excited about the “going back to school” hype, just like every other mom. But my boys were rarely into them. The cool thing about being a homeschooler is that we can pause whenever we want.

As an avid reader, I bring home new books for my boys anytime I go to the book store (spoiler alert!!!: don’t expect your kids to be a reader if you’re not. I’m 100% not trying to judge, but if you’re into tech, your kids will most likely be too). 99% of the books I bring home are a hit! Why? How? Because I sit with them, I ask them questions, I answer THEIR questions, so I know what they’re interested in.

After all the pushing I did with trying to teach my oldest how to read, I finally let go a couple of years ago, and he’s progressed all on his own. I help him with words he doesn’t know, and he figures out the rest. I’m always here, right by their sides, learning with them, or guiding them to where they want to go with their own learning journeys 💝

I’m not here to judge at all. My husband is really into tech, and wondered why his boys didn’t want to read when they were younger “they don’t listen to you, they watch you”.

My husband reads now, I read, and I’ve read almost every night to my boys since they were babies because I wanted to. Everyone’s journey will be different, I can assure you this!

How’s the beginning of the school year going for you so far?
